What Are GPPA Events?
These are not official courses—they are intensive training sessions, usually half-day events, followed by a chill session where participants can exchange experiences, ask questions, and build stronger connections.
Our Events Include:
Weapon Handling
-
Dry drills and simulation weapon training to refine personal skills with pistols and rifles.
-
Focus on weapon manipulation, mechanics, and efficiency under stress.
-
Movement drills transitioning between prone, kneeling, and standing to improve flexibility and safety.
-
Training on resistance band techniques to work on drills while strengthening core stability, grip, and forearm endurance.
-
No live fire—this is about technical refinement and movement efficiency.
Force-on-Force Scenarios
-
Train for realistic, high-pressure situations, including:
-
Low-risk encounters that escalate into high-risk situations.
-
Scenarios lasting from 3 seconds to full building clearances.
-
Applying Stop the Bleed after clearing a structure, followed by stress-induced radio calls and decision-making.
-
BJJ For Cops and Mil
Develop grappling and restraint skills to control individuals effectively.
-
Mastering ground control and handcuffing techniques reduces reliance on weapons in close encounters.
Unconventional Fitness Training
-
CrossFit-style training adapted for real-world tactical performance.
-
Scenarios may include:
-
Aerobic and cardiovascular challenges.
-
Team-based exercises, like carrying a simulated casualty on a stretcher after completing a WOD.
-
More Than Just Training – It’s a Community
Every event ends with a debrief and networking session—an opportunity to learn from each other and grow as professionals.
Why This Matters
At GPPA, we focus heavily on firearm training, but our goal is not just to improve shooting skills. A well-trained officer should have the competence and confidence to handle situations without immediately resorting to their firearm or taser.
-
The better your skills, the less likely you are to need your weapon.
-
Controlled, confident officers make better decisions under stress.
